Frequently asked Questions
Is my defender hood round or flat front?
On the over screen header rail, there would be 4 grab handles for a round front or you will have 6 bolts for a flat header rail section. If we are supplying your frame as well as the hood this will be round section.
What series is my land rover?
There are 3 different Series models for land rover. First, we have the 80” Series 1 which will have 9 hooks in the over screen header rail, then we have the 86”/88” Series 1 which will have 8 hooks & lastly, we have the 88” Series 2&3. Land rover also do 109” LWB which is the same as an 88 but has a longer wheel base.
How long will my canvas or mohair last?
Canvas tends to last about 3-4 years depending on the care you give it; it can last much longer with the right care but anything like pressure washing or even living by the sea can ruin your canvas hood due to the salt in the ocean. If you are planning on getting a mohair hood, these will last about 8-years, again dependant on the care you give it and the way in which you look after your vehicle and hood.
Shipping costs & times?
Shipping costs can always vary depending on the size and weight of your package. We have standard packaging and postage costs for mainland UK which can be found on our price list. For anywhere that is not mainland UK we would have to get shipping costs which can be done by emailing or calling with your address and what you are looking for to estimate the size and weight. (Please note that some areas of Scotland will require extra shipping costs, so please ask for a quote if you are in this area)

Can I have any upgrades on my canvas?
We only do clear windows in canvas, but if you would like an option of smoked or green tinted windows, we can do this as an extra charge per window.
What are the window sizes?
Window sizes can vary depending on the vehicle. All sizes can be found in the description of each hood.
How many windows does the 80” hood have?
Our 80” hoods only come with the 1 window in the back unless you require the 2 small windows then this will have to be specified when ordering.
What does plain or w/s/w mean?
When ordering hoods, we often ask you what windows you would like and this can be plain or with side windows (w/s/w). A plain hood is only the rear window and no side windows and a with side windows hood is a hood with side windows and a rear window. You can also have a hood with no windows at all but you will have to specify this.
Canvas colours?
We do sand, khaki and black canvas. Sand is sand/beige, Khaki is green, Black is black.
When and how can I pay?
We accept all cards apart from American Express. We always take card details on the day that you order, these are kept with your order until the day of despatch when we will take card payment and send out your goods, then dispose of your card details correctly. It’s the easiest way to make the order as quick as possible so it’s not held up waiting to be paid for.
Do I pay a deposit for my hood?
We don’t take deposits on canvas hoods unless they’re special orders that cannot be sold on. We take a deposit on all mohair orders which is usually £500 this is kept at the expense of you cancelling your hood once the order has been made as it costs a lot of money and time making mohair hoods. The deposit will be taken off your total amount payable when your hood is ready to despatch.
