Defender 90 3/4 Mohair Hood

£1,260.00

Three-quarter cab fit hoods fit from the back of the cab to the rear of the Land rover, for the 90 ¾ there are two different front fittings, these are cab fit or bulkhead fit.

It comes with 1 rear window as standard but have the option to add side windows (WSW above).

The ¾ hood has a roll up rear, you can add roll up sides as an extra if you want that option. (These are zipped if you don’t have rope on).

The cab fit option attaches to the rear of the cab via the glass window so this one does not include a vybac window in the front. For this option you will need the cab fit bars which you can purchase separately unless you purchase the complete frame which includes all that you will need.

The bulkhead fit option is a standalone hood and includes a vybac window in the front as well as the back. For this option you will need to purchase the drain channel pieces (1x body fit drain channel, 1x body fit alley clamp to drain channel, 4x Dzus fasteners, 4x spring plates) unless you buy the complete frame which includes all that you will need.

The back has a single 1mm/40 thou of an inch vybac window & one side window, with a height of 16”. They are made as wide as we can get them, it will depend entirely on the frame that you use for your vehicle. It is measured 1 ¼ inches from the stitch line of the zip.

Our mohair hoods are all proudly manufactured in house at our workshop in Oxfordshire, UK. With over 40 years’ experience working in the industry, we have been able to adapt and enhance our patterns to ensure the perfect high quality mohair hood for your Land Rover.

The mohair is mostly sourced from Germany (mohair is the same as is used on all modern German manufactured convertibles), has vybac windows, spun polyester straps and ropes, silver or black nickel-plated brass eyelets and galvanised steel side hooks with aluminium back plates where applicable.

At AWT we understand that there are a multitude of ways you can modify your Land Rover and we can be flexible to cater for these modifications if you give us a call or email to let us know! For all mohair hoods there are multiple ways of fitting these to your Land Rover. Rope on version fits exactly like a canvas hood, the sides and back fasten to the capping and tailgate by rope, roll up and fasten with straps. You need to make sure you have the relevant side and tail hooks (Available to purchase separately)

Stud on version uses Tenax fasteners to fasten the sides and back to the capping and tailgate; by unzipping the centre window panels you can roll up the sides and back which fasten using straps. You need to make sure you have the male connector on the capping
and tailgate so that the fastener on the hood can connect to it. (Studs are included with this hood)

Belt rail version is only used on the sides which is a mohair covered piece of ABS attached to the sides of the hood that pull and clip under the belt rail fitting kit, you need to make sure this installed on the vehicle. (Belt rail fitting kits available to purchase separately)
Tailgate bar can only be used as a fastening method on the tailgate, on the back of the hood there is a strip of awning rail which slides into the tailgate bar. You need to make sure the tailgate bar is attached to the vehicle using two brackets (Tailgate bar kit is available to purchase separately)

Bungee version can either fit exactly like the rope on version with the sides and back fastening to the capping and tailgate with bungee or you can choose to have zips in the sides and back and then the bungee fitting is in 3 sections. You need to make sure you have the relevant side and tail hooks (Available to purchase separately). If you choose this option, please be aware the windows will be smaller.

We always ask if your vehicle has a spare wheel carrier fitted so that we can make a small cut out in the back of the hood, in order to sit neatly over the bracket of the carrier. The hoods are finished with a D shaped cover to stop the zip slider making contact with the paint work.

The window is protected throughout the process of manufacturing the hood by sandwiching it between protection paper and vinyl. The removal of the protection paper and vinyl is the last step of production before packing where the cut-out protection paper and vinyl are laid back over the window to prevent any damage during shipping.
